About the Podcast
This is an authentic podcast and it is for everyone who knows English and wants to entertain. The podcast is about a Paranoid Schizophrenic character. He is called Jeffrey. The story has three main parts and each has a backstory about Jeff’s psychological situation. It is a story which has connections with Jeff’s that day and past.
Genesis of the Podcast
Fuat Kağan Barutçu and me are big fans of thiriller films and games. The idea of the story is original. However, when we were making brainstorming about the theme of the podcast we influenced by various games and songs. As a result the process was amusing for me.
Warning
It is a murder themed story so it contains violent behaviors. Therefore; this is a warning for you not to listen if you are under 18 or you have a tendency to get triggered by violent behaviors.
Podcasts for Education or Entertain
This is an authentic poscast so its main purpose is entertainment. However, authentic podcasts can be used as educational purposes. When the podcast are the educational materials the level of the language and the age group of the target students are important. This podcast is for adults so it is important to use it in adult students groups who are at least Pre-Intermediates. There are also a lot of ESL-EFL podcast which are especially made for language learners with only educational purposes. In addition, students and teachers can pick suitable ESL-EFL podcasts easier than authantic ones because ESL-EFL podcast have dioristic levels and topics. In conclusion, podcasts are benefical and enjoyful in the language learning area. In my humble idea, they should be used more in language learning fields.
